| The above photo is from
a movie in which Alexandra Sorina plays an aristocrat with a very posessive
and controlling husband. At night she goes out into the village and takes
bread to impoverished peasants, who all hail her as a saint. One day the
husband sees her leaving with a large basket and follows her on horseback.
When she realises that she is discovered, she prays for help. When
her husband reaches her, he tears the cloth off the basket and finds flowers
in it instead of the bread she carried with her. This may be the
film, The Sun Disciples (UK, 1925). If anyone knows if this is the correct title, please let us know. |
