background and not against studio-made imitations.

The building on the corner of Hayes and Laguna Streets
in San Francisco as it appeared in 1986.

Today, the building at 611 Laguna is an apartment for
retirees . It still awaits a plaque commemorating its
historic importance in cinema history as the principal
location of one of the world's greatest films.
